Dingle goes green for business boost
A FREE environmental management workshop for hospitality businesses will take place in the Dingle Skellig Hotel on September 14.
The Green Hospitality Award workshop will be one of eight nationwide workshops aimed at advising hospitality interests how to reduce energy, waste and water costs, while at the same time achieving an internationally recognised environmental award.
The organisers are asking managers, owners, facility managers, financial controllers and sales and marketing managers from Kerry hotels, restaurants and pubs, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts, contract caterers, tourist attractions and activity centres, clubs and golf clubs and leisure centres and spas to attend.
Accommodation providers who use international booking engines to source some of their business should also attend to discover how the market is adapting to present green business to potential customers.
The general workshop format consists of a morning session which is an introduction to the Green Hospitality Award programme, benefits and opportunities, economic, social and legislative challenges and case studies.
The morning workshop will also include a session which explains the basic criteria for small and larger businesses to achieve the eco-label or award and green manager training opportunities.
The afternoon session will present a Green Hospitality programme update, 2010 plan and challenges, legislative issues 2010, market developments, best practice review, artisan food, activity review, green purchasing ideas and networking.
To register attendance at this free workshop, email info@ghaward.ie or telephone Mary on 0214354688.
