SuperValu breaks worth €3m to Kerry
BY BRENDAN McCARTHY
KERRY hotels have benefitted to the tune of more than €3 million as a result of SuperValu’s getaway breaks scheme, it has been claimed.
The county experienced particular success with €3,188,550 in hotel revenue generated through families availing of staycation breaks in Kerry.
Over the past number of years, more Irish people have opted to holiday at home and make the most of indigenous scenery, attractions and great value holiday offers, and with Kerry at the top of the pile in all of these categories, it comes as no surprise that local hotels have reaped the rewards of getaway breaks offers.
This summer SuperValu customers can also avail of kids go free vouchers which entitle families to free child admission to a broad range of family holiday attractions in Kery such as the Aqua Dome in Tralee, Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium, Muckross House in Killarney and Castleisland’s Crag Cave.
To avail of getaway breaks, customers need to collect 400 points on their SuperValu reward cards. One point is awarded for every €1 spent in stores.
SuperValu managing director, Donal Horgan, said his company was constantly looking for ways to give something back to their customers.
"This year as well as great value getaway breaks, we have teamed up with a number of top family attractions to offer our customers free child admission during the summer months," he said.
"We strive to make every aspect of our customer’s lives that little bit easier and we’re encouraging Irish families to make the most of the summer and avail of the good value that’s out there," Mr Horgan added.
